AccesStream (www.accesstream.com), developer of Open Source Enterprise Identity, Access Management and Security solutions, is in conversations with Atlanta-based business hosting provider, InnoShare (www.innoshare.com), to discuss the adoption of AccesStream’s solution for Identity consolidation and user management for use in InnoShare’s business hosting environment.

Representatives of InnoShare indicated interest in the roadmap for AccesStream’s product, stating that its architecture and ability to consolidate user profile information from a variety of sources and to leverage that consolidated information to manage access to various end-user applications. This capability, coupled with notable absence of licensing cost, would provide substantial cost savings over current solutions being used by the company.

“We will be following the product roadmap very closely, and will likely contribute to the AccesStream open source project once the initial codebase is published on SourceForge. The InnoShare hosting environment consists of a combination of Linux servers, and now virtual machines, along with a growing collection of third-party applications written in a variety of languages. Our growing and rapidly changing offering creates some challenges in profile, access and configuration management that we feel will be greatly aided by the flexible solution that AccesStream is developing.”

AccesStream is an Atlanta-based provider of open source software which provides flexible integration between existing identity and access management systems, and enterprise software applications. The AccesStream product provides software developers with a no-cost, open source layer providing a consistent interface with which to integrate their software. AccesStream can easily be extended to integrate with other systems through the use of plugins for common profile stores, and users can create custom plugins for proprietary profile stores.

InnoShare is an Atlanta-based business web hosting, web design and search engine optimization firm. InnoShare provides professional, business-class hosting and design services that are affordable enough for small and mid-sized businesses. For customers with new or existing websites, InnoShare offers search engine promotion services to help businesses and organizations reach targeted, well-qualified clientele. InnoShare also provides custom enterprise architecture and application development services for Java/J2EE and PHP projects.

After eight hours of driving and an intense eight minutes of presentation in front of the Five Ventures judging panel on Wednesday, AccesStream has been selected to return to Charlotte, NC on April 10^th, 2008, for the Five Ventures final competition.

Five Ventures is a competition named for the five categories into which startup competitors are classified. For the record, those categories are:

• Biotechnology
• Information Technology (our category)
• Advanced Manufacturing
• Green Technology
• Retail/Service

Entrants compete for a share of cash (estimated to be around $100k for this year's competition) and donated services from Five Ventures' sponsors. The money and services are certainly welcome, but perhaps the most beneficial aspect of the competition is that competitors must sharpen their pitching skills and clarify their message to go the distance. All companies reaching the finals have been vetted by a multi-disciplinary panel of judges and the winners in each category will have bragging rights, some cash and in-kind services, and exposure to a new audience of potential investors.

We are very excited at the opportunity to compete against the other early-stage startups that are a part of the Five Ventures competition, and are very encouraged by the validation we have already received from the organizers and judges of Five Ventures. Though we do not know what will happen on April 10^th, we can highly recommend this competition to other entrepreneurs in the Southeast as a great way to harden your business plan, to get advice, and of course to get more exposure.

AccesStream has been selected to present at the annual UNC Five-Ventures startup competition.
